1. Try a cold water rinse! This will help cut down on the heat applied to your hair & help cuticles lie tightly together making hair look smoother. A smooth hair cuticle makes hair appear more shiny as light reflects off it2. Use a Clarifying Shampoo once a week or every two weeks to help get rid of build up from products & pollution, helping hair look less dull from root to tip! My favourite is Philip B Peppermint & Avocado Volumizing & Clarifying Shampoo
3. Protect your hair! When applying heat make sure to use a heat protector spray such as TRESemme Heat Defence Styling Spray
4. Repair while applying heat! My favourite straighteners from Jose Eber, create negative ions and infrared rays to seal the cuticles to allow less damage while styling!
5. Have regular hair cuts to remove dead split ends that make hair look dry & dull
6. Use a hair oil to nourish you hair - for thick hair I love Kerastase Elxir Ultime, even better use it as a night treatment before you wash your hair the next morning to intensely hydrate your hair
7. Try a weekly hair mask for your particular hair type. For dry & damaged hair I love Philip Kingsley Elasticer Extreme or if you don't have time pop on Aussie 3 Minute Miracle while in your shower and a luxury treat for your hair!
8. Make sure to wash your hair the right way! (read full post here)
9. Instead of blowdrying your hair try air drying whenever possible just to add less heat
10. Use an SPF! When hair gets too much sun exposure, it gets dry and brittle (I learnt this last summer when I came back from my holiday and my hair was in terrible condition!!) Use a sun protection serum to avoid damaging your hair such as Kerastase Soleil Aqua Seal Sun Protection
