Smokey eye or coloured lip was the New Years Eve makeup dilemma and I'm most likely opting for the (dinner friendly) former. New Years Eve is a time to whip out all the favourites, the 'save them for best' products and of course keep it all photo friendly and sweat-proof for those hours on the dance floor.
One of my favourite looks I've been wearing the majority of 2012, starts off with Hourglass Mineral Veil to ensure that my foundation lasts all evening without smearing half way down my face. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk is (of course) my foundation of choice. A glowing, photo-ready and long lasting base. Perfection! Gave myself a hint of cheekbone with Guerlain Four Seasons Powder and added a hint of colour with Guerlain Roses Aux Joues Blusher in Chic Pink.
Onto my eyes, I started of my using Mac Paint Pot in Painterly to even out my lids and help eyeshadow appear more vibrant and last longer. All the shades that graced my lids were from my Inglot Palette, taking the lightest shade all over the lid, the brown taupe along the outer half and bringing the black shade up from the lash line. Lined my eyes with Pixi Lash Line Ink and applied some Ardell Demi Wispies. To merge my real and false lashes together Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill did the trick - black and doesn't run or smudge. Success!
My main reason for choosing a smokey eye was the low maintenance lip, L'Oreal Rouge Caresse in Nude Ingenue followed by Clarins Natural Lip Perfector to add some shine.
As all this makeup application is going on I'll whip in my Enrapture Heated Rollers to add bounce and volume. Hello luscious locks! There's no better time than New Years Eve for some sparkle, which I injected in my eyes and my dress.
Hope you have a lovely evening whether you're rocking the red lip, smokey eye or in bed with some face oil on. As I got all soppy in this post, I'll just leave it at Happy New Year!
