RECAP: Meet & Greet w/ TiffanyD

Last weekend we hosted yet another exciting and successful event at the Sigma store! A big shout out to all those who came to visit YouTube beauty guru MakeupbyTiffanyD and shopped Sigma products. While the event was only two hours, a lot happened during that time! Keep reading to get the inside scoop!

Tiffany brought in just over 240 event attendees - many of which lined up far in advance to get a chance to meet this beloved guru. In addition to loyal fans, several local beauty and fashion bloggers attended the event. Even Glamourista16 made an appearance! 

Tiffany took pictures with guests, signed several Defining Eyes Palettes and answered pressing beauty questions.

All guests received complimentary Sigma gift bags that included a unique product booklet, an E05 - mini eye liner brush and a trio eye shadow sample.

Tiffany performed a makeup demonstration on a Sigma store employee that featured her limited edition Defining Eyes Palette and a unique look from the booklet -- double-winged eyeliner!

The event showcased a giveaway that contained some of Tiffany's favorite Sigma products. Carrie B. from Lakota, IA won the limited edition Paris Makeup Palette, Jessica W. from Eden Prairie, MN secured the Make Me Classy Essential Kit and Hilal I. from St Louis Park, MN received the Synthetic Essential Kit! Congrats, ladies!

RECAP: Meet & Greet w/ Glamourista16!

Last weekend we hosted our first successful event at the Sigma store, which was just one of many yet to come! YouTube beauty guru Glamourista16 was the star of the event, bringing in just over 130 attendees. Read on to get the full recap!

Glamourista provided two makeup demonstrations on fans (pictured above).

All guests received complimentary gift bags that included a product booklet, an E05 - mini eye liner brush and a trio eye shadow sample.

The event showcased a giveaway that contained Glamourista's top three favorite Sigma products. The lucky winners were Josie D. from Groton, SD who won the Essential Kit, Sandra K. from Houston, TX Prize who claimed the Cleansing & Polishing Tool, and Jennifer T. from Chanhassen, MN who received the limited edition Paris Makeup Palette. Congrats!

Get the Look: New Year's Night Out

The countdown to the New Year is on! Ring in 2013 beautifully with this festive look created by Sigma’s makeup artist! We upped the ante on the typical smokey eye by adding an unexpected pop of teal from the Paris Makeup Palette. Keep reading to get the step-by-step!

1. Prep lids with an eye shadow base – we used the shade ‘Spy’ (coming soon!)
2. Apply ‘Louvre’ on the inner lid with the E55 brush
3. Apply ‘Triomphe’ on the outer half of lid with the E70 brush
4. Blend ‘Control’ into the crease using the E25 brush
5. Line both the upper and lower lash line with ‘Control’ using the E65 brush
6. Slightly smudge bottom liner with the E30 brush
7. Lastly, add a coat of mascara and a sweeping of ‘Peche’ blush to complete the look

*To amplify eyes even more, add a pair of false lashes!

IMATS (International Makeup Artist Trade Show) is a yearly event comprised of thousands of makeup artists, vendors and beauty enthusiasts alike. IMATS was founded in 1997 and to-date has become the largest gathering for all things makeup-related! This popular trade show is held six times each year in various cities around the world including London, New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Sydney and Toronto. Get the Look: Midnight in Morocco

2013 is just around the corner and Sigma is excited to be a sponsor at Minneapolis's largest New Years Eve celebration. Inspired by this year’s theme, Midnight in Morocco, we created a festive Moroccan-style look featuring rich and vibrant purple and orange hues. Keep reading to learn how to get the look and find out all the event details!

To get the look, take out your Sigma eye shadow palettes and brushes!

1.    Prep lids with an eye shadow base and the E60 brush. We used the color ‘Pursue' – a rich purple (coming soon) 

2.    Apply ‘Allure’ onto inner corner of lid with the E55 brush

3.    Apply ‘Reveal’ onto middle of lid with the E55 brush

4.    Apply ‘Gossip’ onto outer corner of lid with the E55 brush

5.    Blend ‘Control’ into the crease with the E45 brush

6.    Apply a mixture of ‘Catch’ and ‘Shout’ directly above crease with the E25 brush

7.    Apply ‘Beware’ under brow with the E30 brush

8.    Line upper and lower lash line with a black gel eyeliner and the E05 brush

9.    Lightly smudge ‘Allure’ along lower lash line below eyeliner using the E65 brush

NOW OPEN: Sigma's First Store

We are excited to announce that the first Sigma store is officially open at the Mall of America! Head over to the store and you’ll be able to browse and buy our complete line of products including individual brushes, brush kits, brush care, accessories, makeup and the newest arrivals. Keep reading to get all the details and learn about an exclusive in-store special!

 

 

Beauty bars are set up within the store so customers are able test the products before purchasing. Next to the beauty bars you’ll find iPads featuring step-by-step instructions on how to get various looks (created by Sigma’s very own makeup artist!). All of the looks are created using Sigma products available right in the store. In addition to the beauty bars, swatch cards will be offered for sampling your favorite eye shadow shades, blushes and highlighters.

Visitors can look forward to special in-store events and exclusive promotions, such as this one! -- Come visit us and be the first to buy our individual eye shadows (pictured below) and our NEW eye shadow base collection!

Recap: Defining Eyes by Tiffany D Pre-Launch Event

This past weekend was an exciting one! We were honored to host our very first event at the Mall of America rotunda that featured the infamous YouTube guru MakeupbyTiffanyD for the launch of her new makeup palette created in partnership with Sigma. Keep reading to get the juicy recap details!

The event showcased an exclusive palette that has been in the making for more than a year – the ‘Defining Eyes Palette by Tiffany D.’ 

The palette contains a variety of items essential for creating both everyday looks as well as sultry ones for fun nights out! Included in the palette are 2 gel eye liners, 8 eight eye shadows, a dual-ended eye pencil plus a dual-ended brush! It also comes with a booklet that features five of Tiffany's favorite techniques for creating looks using the items from the palette. (Talk about a holiday must-have!) 

While attendees were able to get the palette before anyone else, Tiffany announced that the official launch date will be Nov. 26 and people will be able to purchase the palette from the Sigma website then.

The event brought 225 event attendees that came from near and far. Each attendee received a free Sigma gift bag containing an E25 mini brush, an E05 brush, a mini eye shadow sample and a Sigma fall catalogue.

Fans showed their love for Tiffany in a variety of ways – some camped out hours before the event, some drew pictures, and some even brought dog treats for Tiffany’s dog, Waylon (often seen in many of her videos and her Instagram posts).

Even though the event only went until 3:00 pm, Tiffany stayed well past that time to make sure to meet with all of her fans and take photos with them and sign palettes.

Many of the event attendees were extremely excited to be the first to purchase the new Defining Eyes Palette and the event was an overall success!

Recap: ENVISION Artopia Fall 2012

Last weekend, Minneapolis fashion enthusiasts gathered for the 11th season of Envision Artopia Fall 2012 – the Twin Cities' largest annual fashion show. The yearly collaboration between V2, Ignite Models, and City Pages celebrates the best in local art, music, and of course, fashion! This year, Sigma was a proud sponsor!

The runway show this time around featured fall fashions from several local boutiques and designers including Amanda Christine, Cliché, Drama, deLange Designs, Khamphian Vang, KJurek, Local Motion, Martin Patrick3, and Roe Wolfe and accessory designers Cayetano Legacy Collection, Rewind, SBG Designs, and Via Patina.

The core of the various installments was centered around vintage looks reminiscent of the 1920s with an unmistakable trace of avant-garde influence. In addition to all of the suggestive Great Gatsby pieces, a noteworthy appearance was made by fall staples including ponchos, over-sized sweaters and trenches. The makeup consisted of smokey green eyes paired with red lips that presented a bold, yet simple look. The hair showcased elegant, wavy faux bobs – very fitting of the modern Jazz Age. We also couldn't help but fall in love with the various antique-like baubles and embellishments that made a striking debut.

Proceeds from the art silent auction in addition to $1 of every pre-sale ticket went to benefit Free Arts Minnesota, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the healing powers of artistic expression into the lives of abused, neglected, and at-risk children and their families.
