A Visit To Diptyque

This time of year is prime candle burning season, something about that cold weather brings on that urge to light the lot of them. When invited to Diptyque to see their latest offerings I ran over to their store on Brook Street, knowing there was something special to be seen... 

Their theme, 'Arabian Nights' contains three candles, all housed in beautiful jewel print with gold veneer packaging, who's colours are dependant on the scent. My favourite out of the bunch was Amber Oud, a really warm earthy and spicey scent that isn't too sweet. The other two, Sapin Dorée, a forest green that's pine scent really screams Christmas and Oliban, inspired by a night under the stars.

There are gift sets galore, minatures of two and box sets of three, making them the perfect Christmas gift, (the little discount at the event nudged me to pick up a few for my best mates). They are slightly pricey than the usual Diptyque candle (£38) at £45 but are larger in size and have over 60 hours of burn time. 

In other news a little sneak preview of what's coming soon (which has my name on it), a two tone scented candle Rose Duet, of their two best selling fragrances, Rose and Baies, which will be around just in time for Valentine's Day!

New Origins Counter at Selfridges!

Yesterday I trotted along to meet the lovely ladies at Origins for a good browse through the new  counter at Selfridges. Being a huge Origins lover myself I was pleased to see the counter has been extended with a few new exciting offers, especially counting down to Christmas, that makes it definitely worth a visit....

I'm a big believe in 'try before you buy' and clearly Origins are too as they have set up a sampling system where you can help yourself to little pots and fill them up with the top 5 best selling Origins products. In the run up to Christmas they've added a gift wrapping station with gift tags in six different languages, there's also a tote bag free with purchases over £75. 

Their counter is filled with Christmas gift sets (I have my eye on quite a few) but my favourite part has got to be their display of best selling products as it's a fantastic way to get to know the brand.

And if that wasn't enough to celebrate the new counter Origins are hosting exciting promotions for the next three weeks. This week if you purchase a skincare item and trade in any product you get a full size Origins face mask free! (May I suggest the Drink Up Intensive - post here).

Event: Dior Croisette Summer Collection at Harrods

You may have heard me say this before but I'll say it again... I don't think there's ever been a Dior collection I didn't love. This was no exception when I first lay eyes on the Croisette Summer collection. I recently went over to the Ice Parlour in Harrods for a wonderful event held by Dior to introduce their summer collection. There was a demonstration with Dior's National Makeup Artist Jamie Coombs with the Beauty Director of Vogue, Nicola Moulton, followed by makeovers and manicures!

The Croisette collection covers the main trend we saw on the catwalks, covering the sorbet shades, and the warmer sunlight shades. these are represented by the two eyeshadow palettes Swimming Pool and Aurora (which is so gorgeous -  stay tuned!) The Vogue Beauty Director, Nicola Moulton's favourite product was the DiorShow Waterproof Eyeliner in Turquoise as she said theres no one it doesn't suit, such a flattering colour especially if you have brown eyes or blue eyes.

Jamie finally look on the lovely Charlotte pictured above using one of my favourites, Dior DiorSkin Nude Foundation, Dior DiorSkin Nude Tan powder, Dior Eyegloss in Sunset, Eyeshadow Palette in Aurora followed by DiorShow Mascara Primer (which I raved about here) and mascara.  After Jamies demonstration we were all treated to manicures, makeovers, an issue of the latest Vogue and goody bags! 

Below are the bits I purchased from the collection, Eyeshadow Palette is the 5-Couleurs in Aurora, Dior DiorSkin Nude Tan and 1-Couleur Eye Gloss in 560 Tan and 750 Sunset so stay tuned if you're interested in seeing my thoughts on them!

Event: Aussie Fashion & Catwalk Show

A couple of Saturdays ago a few other bloggers and myself popped over to the Future Gallery in Leicester Square for a Fashion Show hosted by Aussie to celebrate their bigger bottles! We ate the most beautiful glittery cupcakes while admiring the different hairstyles on the models. My favourite is the fishtail braid! Hope you enjoy the pictures! Event: L'Occitane & Top Sante Magazine

At L'Occitane recently I was very fortunate to meet the lovely beauty editor of Top Sante Magazine, Fiona Embleton. We had a lovely chat about what she recommended from the store & her favourite products & I thought I would share her top three products from L'Occitane!

- Perfect scrub is the Immortel Brightening Instant Exfoliator, as the beads are not too harsh that you feel like you're rubbing and tugging your skin but just perfect amount that you feel you're getting off dead skin

- In the morning Fiona loves to use the Citrus Verbena Shower Gel as it's really refreshing and awakening (I actually bought this myself as it smelt divine!)

- For an evening bath Fiona uses the Lavender Shower Gel as the scent is really calming & relaxing at the end of a long day!

At the end of the evening I was given a goodybag packed with tons of lovely L'Occitane goodies and an issue of Top Sante Magazine that had not been released yet! If you haven't been to a L'Occitane store before I highly recommend you do! They have some of the most gorgeous products (posts about them coming soon!) and the staff are really friendly :)
