Every 15th of August everything in Cannes comes to a standstill for the Feux D'Artifice, which is a fireworks festival. The croisette is absolutely packed with people looking forward to watching the show. Our dinner was in perfect view of the fireworks as we stuffed our bellys and enjoyed the display!

For my makeup I wanted to have more going on around my eyes than the rest of my face, so out came my usual smokey eye! No surprises here, of course but it was one of those evenings where I felt the need to experiment. I used a matte black eyeshadow all over the lid followed by a bronzy gold and a brown over the top to excentuate the colours. Using the matte black as a base really helped the colours of the eyesahdows look more vibrant and helped their true shades stand out. As far as clothes went I kept it simple, baggy dresses are total saviours at large meals - baggy in the right places of course      ;)

Eyes
- Using the matte black shade Blackout from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette all over the lid I followed by applying L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in 012 Sahara Treasure in the inner half of my lid and 012 Endless Chocolate in the outer half. I highlighted my tear duct with Ploof eyeshadow by Mac. I then went on to line my eyes with L'Oreal Super Liner in Black Vinyl and apply some mascara with L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black
- I wanted to keep the smokey eye feline so neglected my lower lash line apart from a coat of mascara.

Skin
- As I didn't need my makeup to last too long I opted out of using a primer but used Dior DiorSkin Airflash Foundation (post here) with Smashbox Fusion Soft Lights in Baked Starburst (post here) along my cheeks

Lips
- The predictable layer of Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss in Lucky (post here)

What do you think of this look? Do you think using the black eyeshadow as a based made a difference?
