Today we’re talking makeup removal! Removing your makeup at the end of the day is one of the best things you can do for your skin. If you leave makeup on before going to bed or working out for example, you run the risk of clogged pores, increased appearance of fine lines and a higher chance of developing blemishes. Here are our simple steps for ‘taking it all off’ at the end of the day:

Remove eye makeup. Use an eye makeup remover to take off all makeup on and around the eyes. This step comes first because often times face cleansers don’t remove the eye makeup but rather leave you with a dark mess under the eyes. Cleansing the face afterwards will remove any eye makeup left behind.

Steam your pores. Drape a towel over your head and hold it over a sink of hot, steaming water. This opens the pores and clears out makeup, making it easier for cleansing. (Skip this step if you are short on time).

Cleanse the face. For gentle cleansing, use the extra-soft brush attachment from the Spa Solutions Kit. If you want added exfoliation, use the medium brush head. After applying your preferred cleanser onto the brush head, make small circles for 1-2 minutes to cleanse. Rinse and gently dry face.

Tone. To tighten pores and remove any final makeup residue, apply an astringent or toner onto a cotton ball and gently swipe along the face. (Do this only every other day or skip all together if you have dry skin).

Moisturize. Lastly, with the massager attachment from the Spa Solutions Kit, massage your choice of moisturizer or serum onto the face. Pro tip: Do this while skin is still slightly damp for the most absorption of product as possible.

What is your daily regimen for cleaning your face?
